Grey Ghost Gear are honouring a fallen soldier with the Griff Pack:
Yes, we are usually irreverent and often sarcastic but this isn’t the time for it. This is about the Griff Pack, which was named for one of our friends. He was killed in Tal Afar, Iraq in 2005. Griff was a truly professional, legitimate badass, an incredibly versatile NCO who was always armed with wit and surprises (and of course, a gun or two). In homage to Griff, we made sure to design a pack that would have impressed him.
The Griff Pack has some very nice features too:
Let’s start with the exterior: On the front we have a 3×5” loop panel for patches, nametapes, or other unit identifiers with a zip pocket right above it. The pocket is cloth lined and soft to keep scratches off your more delicate items and has an included key hook. A D-ring and set of lashing loops rides below. Air mesh runs along the back to keep you cool, and there are nice, wide straps for maximum weight bearing while keeping down the bulk. No, it’s not entirely swimming in MOLLE. The front flap is chock full of pockets and loop with an elastic loop panel across. Flashlights, spare SMG or pistol mags, chemlights—you get the idea. The main compartment is in the middle. The entire back is covered in loop material so you can add pouches or holsters or organizers. We have a great line of Orange Diamond Concealment products on our page for this expressed purpose. This compartment opens and closes in a clamshell fashion so it can be ripped completely open for rapid access to the bottom if need be. Of course, there are some surprises in the back. There is a padded sleeve that can hold laptops up to 17” or water bladders with a pass though above for any hoses. There’s also a zippered pouch directly across. What about the surprises? Well, just below that pouch is a field of loop… with sealable pass through doors on either side…so you can So you can draw a concealed weapon while it’s on your back.
