Blue Force Gear – MAG Now! Pouch

Published on May 22, 2014 by in News, Partners, Products

BFG Logo no background

The new Magazine Now! magazine pouch will come in single and triple versions and features a new molded magazine retention pull tab made from EPDM rubber. The tab is an improvement on the standard fabric tab that is never in the same spot on the magazine and can be tough to feel and grab with cold or gloved hands. The split body design allows the tab to lay across the corner of a mag or ride centered.

BFG Now

BFG is still hammering out the details, but the new pull tabs will be available in a three- or four-piece retrofit pack for under $15 and should be on the street in a few weeks. They will come standard on the Magazine Now! mag carriers. No word on the pricing of the Magazine Now! magazine carriers yet.

BFG Now2

Mag NOW! Will be out Early July and offered in Single and Triple M4 followed up by SR-25 and later AK. The new rubberized pull tab will also be offered in packs of three by late June.

Keep your eyes on www.BlueForceGear.com for when the Mag NOW! comes out.

Blue Force Gear – Rapid Emergency Detachment Swivel

BFG Logo no background

WASHINGTON, D.C.—October 16, 2013—The United States Patent and Trademark Office issues Patent No. 8,516,732 to Blue Force Gear® for their RED™ swivel.  The Rapid Emergency Detachment™ (RED) swivel offers a replacement option for standard push button sling swivels through the unique knob shaped pull tab design.

P-PBER-100 Top

When seconds count, a pull-knob emergency release is more reliable to discharge than a tiny, hard to find push button.  For the times when you need your weapon and other combat equipment off seconds ago, you’ll be glad to have this on your gear.

“We realized that under stress the ‘Quick Detach’ push button simply wasn’t,” said Ashley Burnsed, Blue Force Gear’s CEO.  “Sometimes you need to get out of your gear rapidly and we found that a traditional push button style QD didn’t allow an emergency release every time.  The RED swivel does.”

RED swivel on Sling

The patented RED swivel releases with a 7lb pull straight out from the socket.  The chance for accidental release is minimized by the knob shape and the fact that a pull more than 10-15 degrees off axis will not release the connection.  If you work with a rifle over or near water, or in other conditions where sling entrapment is a substantial risk, the RED swivel can be a lifesaver.

The RED swivel can also be paired with the Burnsed Socket™ or push button Universal Wire Loop™ – both from Blue Force Gear – to make the fastest 2 to 1 point sling on the market.

Review: Blue Force Gear – Ten-Speed M4 Chest Rig

Published on August 19, 2013 by in Products, Reviews

Photo 8

A few months back our friends from Blue Force Gear sent us one of their Ten-Speed M4 Chest Rigs for us to test and review, according to Blue Force Gear the Ten-Speed M4 Chest Rig was designed as an ultralight fighting load carrying option and in my personal point of view it’s a great option for those hot summer days, for CQB games or for when you’re just going to skirmish and you don’t need/want to carry a lot of stuff on you.

With this Blue Force Gear chest rig you get four Ten-Speed elastic M4 mag pouches that can also fit smoke grenades, flash bangs, GPS units, PMR radios, and similar sized rifle or SMG mags, and you also have 3 x 3 MOLLE fields on either side for mounting pistol mag pouches, small utility pouches, PMR rádio pouches or other MOLLE compatible pouches.

While lightweight and form-fitting, the Ten-Speed is rugged enough for anything I would ask it to handle as a chest rig, and the elastic pouches holds magazines really tight, although the magazine pouches were designed to hold M4 mags due to their strong elasticity you can also use the to carry magazines for the Steyr AUG, AK47/74 and FAMAS, additionally if you use a 7.62 style gun, such as an M14, SR25, or SCAR H, Blue Force Gear also makes a version of this chest rig thats holds the larger magazines (see HERE).

Another neat feature of the Ten-Speed M4 Chest Rig is the inner pouch thats gives you the possibility to carry Maps, your ID, pocket knife, your smokes and lighter or any other type of documents/small items you may need.

Photo 1

The Ten-Speed M4 Chest Rig can be adjusted trough the strap buckles, the straps themselfs are in the H shape and although they’re not padded they will not hurt you even if you use this chest rig with only a t-shirt, the fact that you can’t carry tons of stuff with this rig also helps with that, the top support starp can also be use as s an emergency drag handle in case you got hurt and need someone to drag you and the front straps have have loop fields for ID / IFF patches.

Photo 7

Overall the Blue Force Gear Ten-Speed M4 Chest Rig this is a great option if you like to play light and fresh and you don’t need to carry tons of stuff that you don’t really need in game.

Also, keep in mind that the Ten-Speed M4 Chest Rig is produced in the USA and was designed by Blue Force Gear to be used with real firearms magazines and acessories so it’s really high quality and durable and will probably last you for years and years of Airsoft games.

Pros:

Lifetime warranty

Incredibly lightweight (319 grams)

Extremely low profile design

High Quality elastic magazine pouches

Available in Black, Coyote Brown and Multicam

Cons:

Not the best option for those who feel they must carry tons of stuff in game.

Blue Force Gear – New Hive Satchel now in Desert Camo

Published on June 26, 2013 by in News, Products

BFG Logo no background

The Hive Satchel is a collaboration with Chris Costa that finally brings a discreet every day carry bag that doesn’t shout, “this guy probably has a gun.” The Hive Satchel blends in life environments with typical colors and patterns.   No traditional MOLLE webbing will be on the exterior of the Hive Satchel – a dead giveaway to the trained eye.  Even the abnormal semi-circular shape adds to breakup the true nature of the Satchel.

Chris_Costa_Hive_Satchel

The Hive Satchel is loop lined and fully compatible with Blue Force Gear Dappers™ to keep every day carry items secure. Designed around the covert carry of an MP7 submachine gun, most smaller sized SMGs and PDWs can be carried such as the HK MP5K and most folding stock Uzi variants.  The main compartment can be quickly opened one handed for immediate access or the zipper pull unbuttoned allowing for each side to be opened independently. A separate loop lined zippered side pocket can hold most large frame side arms or smaller items such as keys, wallets, phones, or business cards.  The single shoulder strap is designed for ambidextrous shoulder carry – the zippered side pocket can be removed and attached to the other side.

A stiffened back panel retains the packs shape and usability no matter what the contents. To further enhance the discreet nature of the packs, they will only be produced in short runs in any given pattern or color scheme.  The Hive Satchel can also be produced in custom colorways and patterns for large orders.

Blue Force Gear Introduces Urban Wolf

Published on May 14, 2013 by in News, Products

BFG Logo no background
Blue Force Gear ® introduces their product line in Urban Wolf at SOFIC.  Urban Wolf is a specific shade of grey that blends well in many urban environments.  In low light situations the easiest colors to see are those with the highest contrast: white and so called “tactical” black.  Grey is a mid-tone and therefore has low contrast against average backgrounds – making it a good drab solid in a wide variety of situations and surroundings.

With the ever growing focus on security in densely populated urban, suburban, and industrial environments, security forces need a pattern that works with man-made settings and yet is not overtly camouflage.  Urban Wolf load carriage equipment works with blue, black, ranger green, and Arc’teryx LEAF Wolf uniforms in the urban direct action role as well as blending with civilian apparel for low visibility special reconnaissance missions.

LMAC in Wolf

“Urban Wolf is basically the color of wet concrete, near the color values of asphalt, steel, and reflective glass,” said John Felushko, Blue Force Gear’s Product Line Manager.  “It was designed by Arc’teryx specifically as a better alternative to black and blue in the SWAT role but because of its ability to blend with diverse terrains, we like it as a general purpose colorway for many missions, terrains, and tactics.”

Double M4 Pouch in Wolf

New Blue Force Gear products in Urban Wolf are on display May 14 – 15 in the Franklin Boardroom of the Embassy Suites across the Tampa Convention Center Franklin walkway.  It is also available for sale today at BlueForceGear.com.
