Trident LMG Limited Prototype

Published on August 21, 2014 by in News, Products

Here is a new AEG brought to life by Kriss,  the company that creates real steel firearms such as the popular Kriss Vector.

Another successful real steel company making its way to the Airsoft market, making this an increasingly popular trend among gun manufacturers.

The new prototype is based on the M4 platform but its clearly stretching its limits to reach the LMG status that many try to achieve by adding a box magazine .

The benefits in such solution are obvious, its a lightweight and familiar approach for those who are used to work with the M4 platform.

And of course Kritac had to work the internals so they would cope with the task:

Internally, the Trident LMG features a reinforced 8mm ball bearing gearbox with integrated MOSFET to regulate electronic signals and to protect the trigger contacts. The corners of the gearbox that surround the cylinder feature a smooth radius, as opposed to a 90° angle, to prevent fracture. Also, the gearbox shell features a small window on the left side where lubrication can be applied directly to the gears or piston, this window is also convenient for inspecting the angle of engagement with the gearbox fully assembled.Additional gearbox features include a modular spring guide system that will allow the spring to be changed without completely disassembling the gearbox. The KRYTAC piston is made of a durable, lightweight, polymer and features 4 metal teeth, with the 2nd to last tooth absent. The Cylinder head is padded with an enlarged rubber bumper to optimize the angle of engagement and to absorb energy form the impact of the piston assembly. The material for the gears have been especially formulated to be very strong, Rockwell test figures on the KRYTAC gears are much higher than industry norms. Turning all of the drive train components is the KRYTAC high torque motor, capable of 30,000 revolutions per minute unloaded.

This is one of a new line of products being launched by Kritac during the next few months, being that the Trident LMG will be launched during this month and will cost around 499usd.

Published on August 20, 2014 by in News, Products

The new upgraded EFCS Gearbox from ARES  is now available to be used in all AEG’s.

This is achieve by a simple change on the flat head screw/spring guide that is generally used to allow the quick spring change by one which is compatible with most M4 models out there.

And although you might not get the quick spring change system, unless you own an ARES Amoeba, you’ll end up getting a very good gearbox with the following features:

- Metal gearbox shell

- High grade German wire spring

- Reinforced full teeth piston

- Upgraded blue EFCS circuit bard

- Delayer

- 8mm ball bearings x 2

- High strength gear set with magnet

- Quick spring release function

This in conjunction with their new motor release of the Super Performance High Motor, created specifically for the demanding Lipo batteries and you’ll end up with a great internal setup!

There is still no information on when will these be available but we will keep you posted.

FERFRANS CRD Muzzle Device System

Published on August 19, 2014 by in News, Products

Extremely useful on real steel and great looking for Airsoft, just waiting for an Airsoft company to come and produce it, the FERFRANS CRD Muzzle Device System has as main objective the reduction to zero of lateral concussion.

Lateral concussion is the air blast produced by an AR muzzle when firing and can be quite strong if you are standing next to someone who is shooting. Plus if the soldier is on the ground, the amount of dirt and gases will significantly reduced making it easier for the operator to remain focused on target.

The following video illustrates clearly the benefits of the CRD system.

We believe its only a matter of time before the FERFRANS CRD Muzzle Device System arrives to the Airsoft.

ARES AMOEBA Honey Badger Review

Here is my latest review on the ARES Amoeba Honey Badger, published on A.C.E.:

I was lucky enough to get my hands on one of the first units to arrive in the UK of the new ARES Amoeba AM-013DE.

This is another very exclusive and unique gun brought from the real steel world, and probably as many of you might know made quite an appearance in Call of Duty Ghosts.

The original Honey Badger was made by AAC or Advance Armament Corporation, made its first public appearance back in 2012 and was initially created by request of the special operations community who was looking for a familiar gun system to effectively replace guns such as the Heckler&Koch MP5 and other similar PDW’s. This new system had to be lightweight, prepared for sub sonic round for suppressed sound and flash, reliable .30 caliber compatible,                low recoil and have the ability to penetrate barriers with a high mass projectile. Hence the Honey Badger was born!

Here is a good alternative to stippling your pistol grip: the TALON Grips for MAGPUL MOE AR.

This a kind of a paper sand wrap that you stick around a Magpul MOE pistol grip, which has as final aim to improve the grip you have on your gun.

The wrap comes is available in two options: granulate and rubber textures and offers full side panel coverage, full coverage under the trigger guard, and high coverage on the backstrap.

They haven’t developed an Airsoft version yet, and due to the size of the MOE TPS grips being slightly wider in diameter, its almost certain that there aren’t compatible, but who knows in the future they might start considering the Airsoft community, or you can just try and mimic these wraps at home!

For more information visit Talon Grips.
